Glenayre Port Moody is a small residential neighbourhood bordering North Road and Clarke Road at the base of Burnaby Mountain. It is nearby Barnet Highway, making it an easy access subarea to Burnaby and Vancouver.

ABOUT

Glenayre is a small subarea on the South West side of Port Moody that is bordering Coquitlam heading towards Burnaby. Simon Fraser University is very nearby, making this a convenient location for students or anyone interested in Burnaby Mountain’s Conversation Area, hiking, and trails. It is also home to Glenayre elementary, and some of the homes border the greenbelt.

Glenayre is commuter friendly, with the 97B line regularly running along Clarke Road. It is also nearby the new Evergreen Skytrain extension that connect the Tri-Cities to Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, and various locations in Metro Vancouver. Glenayre is also just a short distance to Lougheed Town Centre, a shopping centre which is currently in the early stages of being constructed in to an urban centre featuring new residential and office towers along with a redeveloped mall.

TRANSIT

The nearest skytrain is at Burquitlam station. There are main busses all along Clarke Rd, which turns in to North Road and takes you directly to the skytrain hub which will take you in to Surrey, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, and Vancouver. The majority of the homes are within walking distance to a bus stop. .

THINGS TO DO

This neighbourhood is able to enjoy the perks of both Port Moody and the Lougheed (Coquitlam/Burnaby) area. Within 5 minutes there are a variety of restaurants, bars, shopping malls, grocers, and coffee shops to enjoy. Residents are also nearby to Rocky Point Park, where you can enjoy the outdoor walking trails, playground, marina, boardwalk, and outdoor pool. Port Moody also offers the famous “Brewers Row” which is an assortment of 4 craft breweries across from Rocky Point Park.

Glenayre is also just a short distance to Lougheed Town Centre, a shopping centre which is currently in the early stages of being constructed in to an urban centre featuring new residential and office towers along with a redeveloped mall.

Burnaby Mountain is home to Simon Fraser University, as well as Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area which features spectacular daytime and evening view of Metro Vancouver. In the area are also a number of hiking, biking, and walking trails, Horizon’s restaurant, and “The Playground of the Gods” which features sculptured wooden totem poles.
