Hockaday Coquitlam is a neighbourhood that runs along Pipeline Road North of David Avenue and is nearby to Town Centre Park. The majority of the homes are surrounded by forest, with a number of homes further North sitting on large lots.

ABOUT

Hockaday is a quiet residential neighbourhood that consists of detached homes.  A large number of the homes have large lots, and the majority of them are on flat grounds. As this area is nestled near the Coquitlam River, homes are often backing on to the greenbelt or surrounded by forest, which adds to the privacy and quiet of the area. It’s nearby a number of great schools, and is also close to the local Douglas College.

For the outdoorsy, you’re within walking distance to Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park, which has a small man-made lake, walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, football/soccer fields, and a track.As Hockaday borders Coquitlam River, you’ll often see kids tubing down the river, or people fishing, swimming, or hanging out and cooling off.

TRANSIT

The closest skytrain is at Lafarge-Douglas College station which will take you directly in to New Westminster, Surrey, Burnaby, Vancouver, and Richmond as well as throughout areas of Coquitlam and Port Moody locally. Smaller busses that run along Pipeline are also accessible via a short walk.  There is a bus that runs from Burke Mountain to Coquitlam Centre Station along David avenue which Hockaday residents can catch easily and is within walking distance.

THINGS TO DO

You’re within walking distance to Coquitlam’s town centre park, which has a small man-made lake, walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, football/soccer fields, and a track so if you’re an outdoorsy person this area is great for you! There’s a number of hiking trails as well in the Westwood Plateau and Burke Mountain subareas, all within a 5 minute drive of Hockaday. Although Hockaday doesn’t have business/commercial zones, it is extremely close to North Coquitlam which harbour Coquitlam centre mall and a number of grocery stores, banks, gas stations, restaurants, and local businesses.
