New Horizons Coquitlam is a residential neighbourhood on the Northeast side of the city. It is a nearby a wealth of amenities and outdoor activities, such as Lafarge Lake, Town Centre Park, Coquitlam Shopping Mall, and various grocery stores.

ABOUT

New Horizons is a generally flat neighbourhood with a mix of condo’s, townhomes, and detached homes on the northeast side of Coquitlam, some of which back on to a greenbelt.There are a number of busses that go through New Horizons, and many of the homes are walking distance to the skytrain. It holds a number of outdoor places to go, such as walking trails, Glen Park, Lafarge Lake, and town centre sports park.

Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park, which has a small man-made lake, walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, football/soccer fields, and a track.  Nearby, the Evergreen Cultural Centre features a 257-seat theatre for live performances, a rehearsal hall, art studios and an art gallery.  As New Horizons borders Coquitlam River, you’ll often see kids tubing down the river, or people fishing, swimming, or hanging out and cooling off.

TRANSIT

NEW HORIZONS COQUITLAM TRANSIT

The closest skytrain is at Douglas College station, and for many homes it is within walking distance.  The skytrain will take you through Coquitlam, Port Moody and straight to Vancouver. Transit runs down Pipeline and also on David that will take you directly to Coquitlam Station. At Coquitlam station there is also the West Coast Express, an express commuter train service with limited stops that runs in to Vancouver’s Waterfront Station every weekday.

New Horizons is less than a 5 minute drive to Coquitlam centre mall, and is nearby a number of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and fitness studios. It holds a number of outdoor places to go, such as walking trails, Glen Park, Lafarge Lake, and town centre sport’s park. You have easy access to the highway, so you’re also only 10-15 minutes away from the closest movie theatre.

The Coquitlam River is another great outdoor resource along New Horizons where there are a network of trails that are great for a hike or casual stroll. In the summer, a number of residents often bring their families to the river to enjoy tube rides on hot days. The river also attracts salmon and the occasional trout, providing entertainment for fishers that enjoy the sport.
