Help me reach my fundraising goal of $3000 by September 7th, donate to KidSport

As many of my past & current clients know, I’m really passionate about being active, pushing myself to new levels, and trying new things.

This year has been a big one for me. I just completed my first half marathon two weeks ago, and spent most of the spring/summer training for an under 2-hour time. I ended up achieving my goal, so I figure why not jump right back in with another event to push the envelope!

My personal training gym – Innovative Fitness (IF) Port Moody – is hosting their annual IF Adventure Challenge on September 7th, in which I’ll be completing a 6km and 8km mountain bike & run course from Rocky Point to Bert Flynn Park and through it, then back again with my team Easier Said Than Run to raise money for a local not-for-profit organization, KidSport.

We’re working out for a cause, and fundraising to support youth in sports!

If you haven’t heard of KidSport™ before, it’s an amazing organization that is a local not-for-profit that provides financial assistance to kids 18 and under for sports-related registration fees and equipment so that all kids can have the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports.

Growing up as a kid involved in competitive figure skating, gymnastics, dance and swimming, I’m very grateful that my family was able to financially support me in all of the different sports I tried. Each sport taught me something different – whether it was teamwork, independence, resilience, the importance of a healthy lifestyle, fitness, or how to have fun.

Aside from the character building & fitness aspect of sports, I believe that sports gives many kids a chance to feel like they’re a part of a community, included, and build life-long relationships. I hear so many kids feel like they’re lost or they don’t fit in, and – for me – dance specifically was a community that I felt comfortable and myself in, where it didn’t matter if I was considered “cool” at school. Funny enough, the friends I met in dance when I was only 10 are still my best friends now. Sports can make a kid feel included and improve their self-esteem – so coming from a personal experience of how sport has impacted my life, that is why I’m raising money for KidSport™.

My team, Easier Said than Run, is a team of 4 and our team goal is to raise $3,000 to support KidSport™by the day of the event on September 7th, 2019.

Our team is only $775 away from reaching our collective goal, and my personal fundraising goal is to hit $600.
