ABOUT

Burke Mountain is located on the North East side of Coquitlam, and borders Port Coquitlam at Coast Meridian and Victoria. Burke Mountain consists of both detached homes and townhomes, and is an area of Coquitlam that has recently undergone massive development and rezoning. Therefore, the majority of the properties are year 2005 or newer. Many of the homes are on the greenbelt, making Burke Mountain a hub spot for nature-lovers and hikers. There are a variety of hiking trails and biking trails in the neighbourhood and Minnekhada Regional Park nearby. The newer detached homes typically consist of a smaller lot, with a large interior square footage space, and the townhomes typically range from 1200-1500 square feet for a 3 bedroom and 1600-2400 square feet for a 4 bedroom (interior space).

A fast-growing subarea, there are a number of amenities, schools, bus routes, and community centres in the works, in addition to those that are already in place. The neighbourhood is just a short drive or direct bus ride to the new Evergreen Skytrain extension that takes you right in to surrounding cities and Metro Vancouver.

TRANSIT

BURKE MOUNTAIN COQUITLAM TRANSIT

The closest skytrain is Lafarge-Douglas College Station, and there are bus stops on Coast Meridian, Princeton, and David that take you directly there. This Evergreen Skytrain station commutes directly through Coquitlam to Port Moody and then further on to Burnaby and surrounding locations in Metro Vancouver. Homes close to David and/or Princeton will be in walking distance to the new Princeton-Coquitlam Station bus route, and as Burke Mountain is a newer, fast-growing neighbourhood we anticipate a number of busses will continue to be added to the area.

THINGS TO DO

BURKE MOUNTAIN COQUITLAM NEIGHBOURHOOD AMENITIES

You’re within a 5-10 minute drive to the Costco, Coquitlam centre mall, save-on foods, 7-11, shoppers drug mart, and many other grocery/shopping stores. Many of these amenities are also a direct bus ride away. The closest movie theatre is in Pitt Meadows. Because Burke Mountain one of the newest development areas in Coquitlam, you’re still within the trees and a little bit further from all the bustle. It’s still quiet, but close enough to everything you need that you don’t feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere.

Town Centre Park is a bus ride or less than 5 minute drive away, which features a running track, football and soccer field, volleyball courts, outdoor playground, and more. It is also home to Lafarge Lake, a man made lake with a surrounding walking terrain and a new outdoor amphitheatre for city shows and the nearby Evergreen Cultural Centre. Also across the street from Town Centre Park is Douglas College, Pinetree Secondary School, and the City Aquatic Centre.
