ABOUT

Harbour Chines is on the northwest side of Coquitlam and consists of all detached homes. Como Lake is the main road east to west of harbour Chines, and it works as your easiest access to Lougheed Station (Burnaby) and Coquitlam Station (Coquitlam), and all the way through to the Gaglardi exit to the freeway for access in to Vancouver. When heading North, the main road is Gatensbury which will take you directly in to the heart of Port Moody! Because this neighbourhood borders Port Moody but is still a part of Coquitlam’s boundaries, residents are able to enjoy the best of both cities. The majority of homes are on flat large lots, until you move further down Gatensbury Road. Those homes are more inclined to be on a slope; however, a number of them will be on the greenbelt for increased privacy.

TRANSIT

Como Lake on the south side of Harbour Chines is your main road for all things transit. It’s busses run to the schools and all the local stations both east and west, which are hubs for the skytrain. In addition to Coquitlam station and Lougheed station, there are also Moody Centre and Inlet Skytrain stations nearby. The skytrain station connects Tri-Cities residents in to Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, and various locations throughout Metro Vancouver. There is a direct bus along Como Lake to SFU (143) for university students.

THINGS TO DO

Harbour Chines is an entirely residential area, so it doesn’t have any businesses/commercial zones within it. (keep in mind it is a fairly small subarea) However, that being said, it is a direct bus or 5 minute drive to Burquitlam plaza, which has grocery stores, restaurants, a shopper’s drug mart, and basically everything you would ever need. As it neighbours Chineside, you’re also extremely close to Como Lake Village which harbours the same type of amenities as Burquitlam Plaza, with a Starbucks, local baker, No frills grocer, gas station, and liquor store. The Poirier Sport and Leisure Centre, on Poirier Street, is also nearby and offers ice rinks for hockey, figure skating, and curling, as well as a fitness gym and a pool. Dogwood Pavilion and the Public Library are also nearby.

Because you’re also just south of Port Moody, this is another area where you can enjoy the perks of both Coquitlam & Port Moody! Rocky Point Park in Port Moody is a family-friendly destination with an outdoor spray park, pool, boat launch, walking trails, the Boathouse Restaurant, Rocky Point Ice Cream, and more. Across the park is also Port Moody’s “Brewers Row” which is a collection of 4 craft breweries for enjoyment.
