Lower Mary Hill is a quiet area of detached homes on the south side of Port Coquitlam. The homes vary from small lots to large lots, as well as older homes to brand new builds. A number of houses are within walking distance to schools as well as parks, making this area a family-oriented neighbourhood where people tend to stay for 10+ years. While the neighbourhood is primarily residential, there are some commercial areas behind some streets such as Pekrul and Broadway.
Residents also enjoy easy access to the highway via Broadway or Pitt River Road, and accessible bus routes along Mclean Aveue and Pitt River Road for non-drivers. Shaughnessy Street offers a number of restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, and independent businesses within a 5 minute drive from Lower Mary Hill.
