By definition and location, Central Coquitlam is of course the most central subarea of all of Coquitlam. It is an area with a wide range of choices, from condos to townhouses to detached homes of all sizes. The majority of the homes in Central Coquitlam are on flat lots, and have easy access to busses and transportation. It is directly in the middle of Coquitlam’s 2 skytrain hubs – Lougheed Station and Coquitlam station. The majority of busses that run through Central Coquitlam with have direct access to both stations.
There are a variety of schools within Central Coquitlam, as well as a number of amenities and activities. One to highlight is the Poirier Sports Complex which is a new multi-recreational facility for swimming, figure skating, hockey, curling, and lacrosse as well as a community gym. In the area there is also a library branch, a tennis complex, a regularly hosted weekend farmer’s market, and the Dogwood Pavilion community centre.
